Julia reaches for her cowgirl hat and begins to smile

Urban Cowgirl (August 30, 2008)

By popular request, we had Julia's portrait taken in these precious outfits. The pink hat and boots are an absolute favorite around here.

Wet Wipes (June 2, 2007)

Our darling 11-month-old baby with the perpetual cowlick discovered a box of her wet wipes. I love this baby!

Early Infancy (08/2006)

Baby Julia is 5 weeks old. We took her outside in the warm sunshine to walk around the block and get some fresh air. She is starting to smile.

Thanksgiving (11/2005 and 12/2005)

We went to Brian's hometown for a belated Thanksgiving and also celebrated Momma Chang's birthday a bit early. Once again, Momma Chang graced us with her snazzy hula hoop skills. We visited our home away from home in Milwaukee for some delicious Korean food and a turkey buffet the previous week and much fun was had by all.

Momma Chang and Sister Visits (08/2005)

We visited Brian's mom who was staying with her sister in Milwaukee. Kelly met Brian's extended family for the first time, and Brian's mom showed off her hula hoop skills. A few days later Brian's sister was in town on a business trip, and we met her for dinner.

Kelly's Mom visits Chicago (08/2005)

We took Kelly's Mom on a whirlwind tour of Chicago and showed her the sights of Illinois including Navy Pier and Chipotle! Wow, was it ever a hot day, even with a breeze coming off Lake Michigan but the bright sunshine made for excellent picture taking.

Two Generations

On Chebeague Island (07/2005)

In celebration of Uncle Jerry's Birthday, my parents traveled to Maine and took a ferry to the island of Chebeague. What a great mini-reunion it turned out to be with the trio of cousins Anne, Susie, Dave and also Alexis too. Since Kelly and Brian had just moved to Chicago, they had to miss out on all the fun (unless you count unpacking multitudes of boxes as fun). However, we were all united even if only for a few minutes by placing a long distance call to the island and having a chance to say hello to everbody. Kevin and Ann were delighted to find two childhood drawings that Kelly had made during her last visit there still hanging on the wall in the "girls" bedroom. One drawing is of Chauncey and the other was made especially for "Annie" (Kelly & Annie are about the same age).

A Holiday Visit (12/31/2003 - 01/02/2004)

Kevin & Ann once again returned to Washington, D.C. for what has become an annual event . . . New Year's Eve. with their very dear friends. They also had a special treat visiting the Washington, D.C. clan with Paul and Linda. They were lucky enough to see Valerie, visiting from Switzerland, and Peter, visiting from Denver. En route home, Kevin and Ann stopped for an overnight vistit to the beachfront.

Naomi smiles at brunch Naomi's Bat Mitzvah (09/13/2003 - 09/14/2003)

Naomi's friends and family rallied around her in support of her on this very important day -- the culmination of her hard work over the past few years shone through during the ceremony. Grandma, Grandpa and relatives from everywhere journeyed to share in the joy of her accomplishments. We feel truly blessed to have been able to witness this rite of passage.
